1. How to apply for a new Aadhaar card
Steps to Apply for Aadhaar
- Locate an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre:
Visit the UIDAI website and navigate to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
Click on ‘Locate an Enrolment Center’ and enter your state, district, or PIN code to find the nearest center.
Book an Appointment (Optional but Recommended):
On the same portal, select ‘Book an Appointment’ to schedule your visit at a convenient time.
Gather Required Documents:
Proof of Identity (PoI): PAN card, passport, voter ID, etc.
Proof of Address (PoA): Utility bills, bank statements, etc.
Proof of Date of Birth (DoB): Birth certificate, school certificate, etc.
Proof of Relationship (PoR): For children, documents linking them to parents/guardians.
Ensure you carry original documents; photocopies are not accepted.
Visit the Enrolment Centre:
Fill out the Aadhaar enrolment form available at the center.
Submit your documents for verification.
Provide biometric data: fingerprints, iris scan, and photograph.
Review the information for accuracy before submission.
Receive Acknowledgment Slip:
After successful enrolment, you’ll receive an acknowledgment slip containing a 14-digit Enrolment ID (EID).
This EID can be used to check the status of your Aadhaar application
Aadhaar for Children (Blue Aadhaar)
For children below 5 years, a Blue Aadhaar card is issued.
Biometric data is not collected for this age group.
The child’s Aadhaar is linked to one of the parent’s Aadhaar.
Biometric data needs to be updated once the child turns 5.
